Conveniently located in Studio 9b at 9 Burnett St New Norfolk, Yoga Derwent Valley is an inclusive studio that provides high quality yoga delivered by experienced teacher, Cath Brown.

The yoga on offer is informed by Cath’s 20 years of experience, practicing and teaching yoga. The classes are intelligently sequenced for safety and are appropriate for beginners and seasoned practitioners. Cath teachs both Slow Mindful Flow classes and Yin/Restorative classes.

Slow Mindful Flow classes offer an intelligent and fluid sequence emphasising breath, slightly longer holds, safe and functional alignment, a balance of strengthening and mobilising postures and a meditative approach to develop awareness and responsiveness in each pose. These classes provide the space for you to feel grounded in body, steady in mind, spacious in breath and present in heart.

Yin/Restorative Classes focus on gentle movement, supported Restorative Yoga poses, breath awareness and mindful meditation.

A practice to support you to slow right down and be present and open to what you are feeling in each moment, to release tension from the body and mind, and nourish your nervous system’s capacity to calm and come back into balance. Give yourself the gift of deep rest and stillness.

Students all receive personal attention from Cath, whether you are new to yoga and require a solid introduction to the basics or whether you have been practicing for years and are looking to be challenged in your practice. Cath is able to offer modified poses to cater for injuries, limitations and all levels of experience.

Yoga Derwent Valley has all the props you need for a comfortable and effective practice, including mats, bolsters and blankets. Studio 9b is a wonderful new addition to New Norfolk, which has plenty of parking nearby.

You will be warmly welcomed by Cath who cant wait to share the practice with you.
